Escape Verity Callouts Guide
Share one hallway language so Escape Verity teammates stop saying “over there” during hunts.
Good callouts turn Escape Verity™ from twelve strangers into a functioning crew. Mind Blowing Productions’ Roblox halls look similar under horror lighting — shared vocabulary matters more than perfect memory. This page standardizes short phrases that pair with Halls Overview, Exit Routes, and Co-op Roles.
Core vocabulary
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Spine | Main connector hall between major locks |
| Wing | Side branch off a junction |
| Junction | Intersection where spine meets wings |
| Antechamber | Room just before a major door or exit |
| Landmark | Unique prop/stair/window used as anchor |
| Cleared | Wing already searched; do not re-open |
| Hold | Stop advancing; watch or wait for reset |
Use these words even if your first language is not English — keeping in-game English labels for doors/keys avoids mistranslating colors mid-chase.
Callout templates
Copy these patterns:
- “[Key color/label] — [wing] near [landmark].”
- “[Door label] open — hold spine.”
- “Verity [direction] connector — freeze.”
- “Wing cleared — rotating to [next].”
- “Finale antechamber — regroup.”
Examples:
- “Blue key — east wing near broken light.”
- “Main door open — hold.”
- “Verity rear spine — freeze.”
When to talk vs go silent
Talk between hunts. Go silent during Verity listen pauses and active chases except for one-word danger calls (“rear”, “freeze”). Full listen logic is in Verity Behavior.
Chapter differences
Chapter 1 callouts can be slower while people learn. Chapter 2 needs faster parallel updates because two wings may progress at once — Chapter 2 Guide. Keep the same grammar so newcomers plug in without a new dialect.
Text-only lobbies
If voice chat is off:
- Type one template line per unlock.
- Pin the Escape Checklist URL in Discord if you play with friends.
- Pair visually with the caller instead of typing essays.
Landmarks beat coordinates
We still refuse fake world coordinates. Landmarks survive lighting changes better: stair type, unique crate stacks, windowed halls, painted doors. When you die holding information, respawn callouts should name the landmark first.
Training drill
Spend five minutes in a calm lobby pointing at junctions and forcing every player to use spine/wing/landmark once. Then run Chapter 1 with a mute rule except templates.

Callouts are free gear. Equip them before buying coils. Practice five clean template lines before every Chapter 2 public lobby.
Multi-language lobbies
International servers often mix languages. Keep door and key labels in the in-game English strings, then wrap local speech around them. Example: announce the English color first, then a short local instruction. That hybrid style prevents a red key from becoming three different words mid-chase. Pair with Co-op Roles so the caller owns the English label track.
Callouts during Chapter 2 parallel lines
When two wings progress at once, the caller should alternate updates: wing A status, wing B status, spine hold. Never narrate every footstep. One sentence per unlock is enough. If both scouts go silent for more than a minute, the rear guard pings “status” once — then everyone answers with a template line. Silence without status is how parallel lines stall.
After the July 2026 refresh
If door labels or UI strings shift after the 30 July 2026 universe update, update your vocabulary the same night and skim Updates Hub. Old nicknames that no longer match signs create fake disagreements. Reset shared Discord pins that still list outdated door names.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Should callouts be in English?
Keep key/door labels in the in-game English strings. Add local speech around those labels if your group prefers.
What if teammates ignore callouts?
Pair with disciplined players and keep calling anyway — one good trio beats nine silent sprinters.
Do we need map coordinates?
No. Landmark + wing language survives updates better than fake coordinates.
When should we stay quiet?
During Verity listen pauses and active chases, except one-word danger calls.
Where do roles fit?
Caller owns checklist language; scouts own wing search callouts — see Co-op Roles.
